 The 8TH ANNUAL NEW ORLEANS GIANT PUPPET FESTIVAL is back!

 

Get lit and witness an esoteric variety show hosted by Shady Shayla, Creepy Cindy, Necro Naudia & Dead Mike. This shadow “DEATH CAST” illuminates giant imagery – manipulating depth and space. Featuring interactive interviews from the burial realm, live “XwetH” music videos, the ever popular “Basement Mix”, plus ~ the thrilling continuation of “The Daughters of Sunset” mythology.

OPEN EYE THEATRE brings Night Shade and Mr. Bonetangles to The Bakken Museum’s rooftop for a special Halloween puppetry extravaganza!

Demonic hosts Shady Shayla and Creepy Cindy will call forth the spirits of MINNEAPOLIS, joined by a cast of witchy misfits flipping the mix on tales from the Night Shade crypt: Watch in horror as a giant anunnaki pig has his fill of a pig themed Portlandia restaurant! Freeze in terror as the spirits of an ancient blood ritual between men and wolves is projected from a ceremonial grimoire! Claw the edge of your seat as a young boy tries to save his father's soul; and almost loses his own! Gasp as ghosts fly from an ancient manuscript and sit with YOU in the audience!

Opening is maestro of marionette mayhem, Mr. Bonetangles (Austin, TX), with his haunting cast of spooky skeletons and punk rock rabbits!

ORDER OF WOLF is a shadowy story of an obsessive lust for knowledge and power. After witnessing an ancient blood ritual performed between men and wolves, a young boy uses a ceremonial book to try and save his father's soul; and almost loses his own. 

Night Shade illuminates multiple layers of imagery that unfold out of the pages of a hand made pop-up book and flow across the large shadow screen like film.

Interdisciplinary shadow duo, Dust in Your Eyes is comprised of Seattle-based artists Zane Exactly and Cassandra Bray. This Samhains' performances of "Giant Woman" & "We Go Mad" ~ incorporate silhouette, overhead shadow puppetry and surrealist storytelling.
